Curriculum

Here you'll find more info on the type of puppy curriculum we follow at Sweet Magnolia Doodles. After hearing about The Badass Breeder Way we looked into what all the rave was about, it was like a missing piece of the puzzle. It follows so much of our core beliefs and we're beyond excited to have such a fantastic guide incorporated into our breeding program.

If you look to the chart on the right you will get a small glimpse of how we do it. We believe in healthy, happy, parent dogs at the forefront of everything we do makes all the difference in our puppies futures. We genetically test, OFA, and temperament test our dogs before entering our program. Starting at three days old we begin ENS(early neurological stimulation) and ESI(early scent introduction), as well as daily handling in a loving manner and daily weights, with a calm and clean environment. We ensure they are empowered and not enabled, and leave here knowing that the world is safe, people are kind and dogs are friendly.

ENS Benefits:

1. Improved cardiovascular performance(heart rate)

2. Stronger heart beats

3. Stronger adrenal glands

4. More tolerance to stress

5. Greater resistance to disease

ESI Benefits: Nose awareness and confidence! Great for hunting, tracking and diabetic alert dogs (to name a few).

At three weeks old we begin a more focused curriculum developed by Jeanette Forrey. Exposing them to a variety of textures, things to climb on, chew on, play tunnels, balance boards, and more.  We also begin the "10 Step Puppy Massage" exposing them to safe and calm handling. We aim to provide a stable and enriching environment for the whole duration the puppies are in our care, we feel this is vital in making a difference in our puppies lives.

We watch each puppy as they progress over the course of this curriculum, taking notes each step of the way. At seven weeks old we begin puppy evaluations to better assess individual puppy temperaments and stable traits. This is key to what makes us different at Sweet Magnolia Doodles, we believe in giving our puppies a voice and aim to match our pups with the family best suited for them.

Puppy picks are ALWAYS arranged after they turn seven(7) weeks and have completed a

puppy evaluation. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Example: Family O is looking for a mild, more tenderhearted puppy. By assessing each puppy we would be able to determine which puppies

fall into this category and help guide Family O to these puppies rather than based off looks alone.

This ensures Family O wouldn't be picking the most confident, higher drive puppy in the litter, only later to end up frustrated that they have a puppy that does not fit their energy needs.
